Lippman currently teaches high school, and he has taught at Columbia University's Summer Program for High School Students, as well as at The Gotham Writers' Workshop. In 1990 he received his MFA from the University of Iowa and in 1997 he was granted a Masters in English Education from Columbia University. He lives upstate New York.
