For undergraduate courses in the history of interior design.
This text covers interior design from ancient times to the present day. It offers a broad depth of coverage, lavishly illustrated throughout.
With the sixth edition of Interior Design and Decoration, Stanley Abercrombie has thoroughly revised and updated this time-tested, well-respected text. It was originally published as a series of home study catalogs in 1916 by Sherrill Whiton, Sr., the founder of the New York School of Interior Design. The success of the catalogs lead to classes on the subject, and ultimately the creation of the New York School of Interior Design. Sherrill Whiton, Jr. succeeded his father as author of the text before Stanley Abercrombie took over revising the text.
