Michelle M. Jacob is professor of education studies and director of the Sapsik'walá (Teacher) Education Program at the University of Oregon. She previously served as the founding director of the Center for Native Health and Culture at Heritage University on the Yakama Reservation, and as professor of ethnic studies at the University of San Diego. She is the author of Yakama Rising: Indigenous Cultural Revitalization, Activism, and Healing and has published articles in a wide range of academic journals. Jacob is a member of the Yakama Nation.
